Tarte Holiday 2014 Pin Up Girl vs 2016 Color Wheel

Who can resist Tarte Holiday this year? I definitely need to get this Color Wheel for sure. So as soon as it was available for presale, I asked my friend in Singapore to get it for me.

I can't do detail review about it due to my hectic schedule so I can't try them one by one on my cheeks, but I will share swatches of them and also comparison to the 2014 edition.

I passed on last year edition because I personally think they are identical. Not totally same but you get what I mean. I also passed on the four-shades blush palette. As you can see that 2014 still in the 99℅ condition, any normal person will agree that I don't need another blush palette.

But this 2016 palette consist of 10 deluxe shades in super affordable price! How good is that! If you don't believe me, you can check the single blush price at Sephora and I'm sure you will say that this is an awesome deal.

Plus Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes is one of the best blushes out there. It lasts whole day! Really I'm not kidding and I'm not the only one saying that. The quality is one of the best and this brand is cruelty and paraben free. It's even gluten free. I love Tarte! See the ingredients and details in the back of the box.

If the 2014 (and 2015) edition is 5-shades of blushes in rectangular shape placed side by side, the 2016 edition is a 10 shades wheel. When you open it, there are 5 shades in each side.

The 2014 (which called Pin Up Girl because it includes 2 vintage hair pins) has 4.5g / 0.158oz x 5 shades net wieghts, while the 2016 (Color Wheel) has 2.4g / 0.084oz x 10. In my opinion, because of the color range the 2016 edition has better value than previous edition.

The 2014 case is so pretty but it is so bulky that I find it difficult to store. The 2016 case is more compact and not taking so much space. The 2014 has huge mirror but 2016 does not.

The other different thing is the name of each shade. The Pin Up Girl has the shade names printed on the plastic that covering the products, so when you want to use the product, you will take out the plastic and the name will not be seen on the palette (I don't know if this is important for you). The Color Wheel has the name printed on the case near each shade. The plastic attached to the case, I believe you can take it out if you want to but I prefer this way. I think the plastic will protect the product from the fall out of other shades in the same palette.

This 2016 plastic is thick so it does not affect me when I want to use the blushes. The 2014 plastic is so thin that I feel annoyed anytime I open and close because it won't sit properly when I put it back. It sometimes slips out from the case too.

I don't have any complaints about the quality of the products on 2014 Pin Up Girl and when I swatch the 2016 I feel the same way. It is even just slightly more buttery than the Pin Up Girl because of course it is new, it is normal. I'm glad I found out that after two years passed, the quality of the blushes is still very good.

There it is, the comparison of Pin Up Girl and Color Wheel. There is no regret buying them even for a cent. And I want to say thank you to my husband for lending me his arm, mine can't fit that many shades in one picture. Lol.

Thank you for reading lovelies. Have a good day.

Missha Line Friends: Eyeshadow Palette Cony

Line friends! Why korean cosmetic companies launch products with cute packaging like this? I can't resist! I'm not a big fan of Line. I'm not familiar with Missha products too. But I want to have this.

I don't have many pink eyeshadows. And that third shade just made me bought it. I even did not care about the other shade when I asked my friend to buy it when she went to Korea. I was contemplating between the Brown Palette or Cony Palette, then I realized I need some pink in my life. Too drama! Lol.

The case is sturdy plastic and in pink color. Not too big and not heavy so it is travel friendly. Include dual sided applicator inside but I still prefer using my own brush.

I did not realize that only one shade is matte and the other three are all very shimmery. I mean it is really shimmery. Surprisingly when I swatch them I love all the shimmery shades and don't think that the matte will be useful for me.

The matte shade with Cony embossing is very lack of pigmentation and not too visible on my skintone, so I decide to not using it again after this review to mantain the shape.

The shimmery shades are okay, not too pigmented but with the help of primer and little bit of effort, everything is fine. On the other side, because it is not super pigmented, it is easy to build and blend. It did fall out a bit, so better to finish eye make up before foundation. It lasts for 4 hours without primer and 6 hours with primer.

I love love love the color on me. It is so sweet and perfect for dating and romantic event. Lol.

Thank you for reading.

Morphe Brushes 35N Palette

Hi everyone, how are you? It is in the middle of the week and also in the middle of the month. Did you haul few things or you survive keeping the money inside your pocket? I broke my promise for not hauling this month. Hahaha...

Well, instead of feeling guilty, I want to share about this stuff. Everybody know about Morphe Brushes 35 Color Eyeshadow Palette. The most hyped is 35O that pushing Morphe to come out with the shimmer version and matte version. I have the original version that I will be reviewing soon. Now, let's talk about 35N first.

I bought 35N together with 35W and 35O, but I ended up selling 35W to my friend. Why? Because actually 35N and 35W have the same exact shades, only 35W consist of shimmers and mattes and 35N is all matte!

I have a lot of shimmery eyeshadow but only have few mattes in my stash, therefore I'm definitely going for the all matte palette. Generally, the color range is neutral enough for everyday use and can be combined with other shimmery palette for more glamorous look.

Below I provide you swatch of all shades. You have a lot of options from light shades to dark shades, most are neutral with few warm tones and few cool tones.

As you can see, the texture is soft, a bit chalky and not so buttery. The pigmentation is not the best among my eyeshadow collection. At first I thought, "oh maybe this will not be my favorite", because I like the buttery texture of an eyeshadow and the pigmentation not impress me.

But surprisingly, it has almost no fall out and really easy to blend. I mean seriously it is really blendable and the most of the shades are buildable. The worst shade is the gray black, the second from bottom right (you will find the swatch in the last swatch picture) that yesterday I found still can be used with a bit of effort. It is difficult to pick and powdery, but will be okay for not-so-bold look.

But think again about the pigmentation, this is all matte palette! Matte eyeshadows never as buttery as shimmery eyeshadows. So finally I found that this 35N is great enough to keep in my stash.

I always use Urban Decay Primer Potion Anti Aging when using this because I dislike the chalky texture and find that they could last all day. Seriously in the end of the day when I want to erase my make up, it is still there, almost as nice as in the morning.

Above is daily looks using 35N palette.

And here I combine with Urban Decay Book of Shadow NYC shade Money for more eyepopping look and Money should be thrown away because the texture has changed. Excuse for buying new palette? Lol..

I really love this 35N when thinking of how affordable it is. I get 35 matte shades that I need and finally I find gorgeous shades for transition and crease. Overall, I'm loving it!

Zebra Large Z-Palette

Ever heard of Z-Palette? It is customizable magnetic empty palette where you can put all make up that you depotted or to store your single eyeshadow or blush or bronzer or highlighter or everything. It basically for any pans that you have.

It comes in several size (you can look at them here). Mine is the size Large and quite big to store almost everything I need for travelling. The window is magnetic flip and transparent so you can easily look at what's inside. The window is also foldable completely at the bottom portion while using it. The material is sturdy and not so heavy so it is travel friendly.

There is magnetic board inside where you stick all pans that you want to store in the Z-palette. It works well with all metal pans. The magnet is not that strong until you can hardly move the pan after you stick them, but it is also not too weak, the pans stay in place until you want to move or remove by yourself. For non magnetic pan, the magnet stickers are already included. Stick to the back of your  non magnetic pan and you're alright.

Honestly I'm not the one who love depotting my make up. I'm also not the one who like to buy single pan make up (refill). At least I still don't have passion toward that direction, maybe I will in future, we don't know. But currently if I buy single pan make up, they will be inside their own case. I'm sucker for packaging, everybody know that. I adore their case and the embossing (if any). And the thought of depotting them and possibility of breaking and cracking just killing me.

I have one other Z-Palette in size Small. It have appeared on my past post about project pan (read here). I feel not really like to use it at that time. First is about how I don't like depotting and the packaging stuff. Second, I don't have many refill pans so I have nothing could be store there. Third, I rarely going on travelling, so I don't really need this palette. I was only depotting non-high end products because of some reason.

But now everything has changed since I'm going on long holiday in 6 days. You know that make up junkie like me would like to bring everything include my vanity table if only that's possible. And for 42 days trip, can you imagine how many I would like to bring? And of course I need trustworthy products for travelling. I don't care about high end or non high end as long as they are long lasting, minimum transfer and suit any occassion. That's why Z-Palette is crucial!

Let's find out what I have done so far:

I put almost all decorative inside my Z-Palette with exception of eyebrow cream, eyeliner, mascara and lipstick.. It means my Z-Palette is carrying my eyeshadows (some are double agent as highlighter/bronzer/blush/eyebrow powder), the real blusher and bronzer, correcting, highlighting, and contouring powder.

What are they? Where are they come from?

1. Naked Palette (12 pans)

I depotted all of them. Since my Naked Palette is all about neutral, I don't hesitate to bring them all. I will always find a way to maximize the use of it. As bonus, many of them act as double agent like I said above.

I love to combine (or use one of them, alone) Virgin and Sin as highlighter. I can use Buck as bronzer/contour powder. Buck and Creep are also good as eyebrow powder.

2. Shade Girly and Totally Fetch from Too Faced Everything Nice

For colorful and funky eye looks. I need few colorful eyeshadow too, in case neutral is too boring.. It's summer baby!!

3. Menard Jupier Trio

Another colorful set. I need to use this, really. This color combination is difficult for me, but with a limited choice while travelling, there's no other option than using it anyway. Maybe finally I fall in love with this. After all I still have space left and I don't want to depot anything else from my collection.

4. NARS Blush Orgasm

The thing that I'm afraid of was really happened! It was breaking in depotting process. My heart's sunk.

I need to repress it using alcohol. At least now I don't have a choice but to put it on Z-Palette and forgeting choosing another to depot. (Actually I made 2 other blushes cracking too while depotting, but when realizing the sign, I stop depotting them and leave them on the pan. This Orgasm is the worst of all, because I accidentally knocked the picking tools to the center of the powder and baaammmm, it just scattered all around. It was totally an accident)

5. Snow Bunny and Chocolate Soleil from Too Faced Beauty Wishes and Sweet Kisses

I loveeee Snow Bunny effect.. And Choco Soleil make a great bronzer and contour too..

6. Shade Tomato Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow from my trio Artist Palette

Another colorful eyeshadow. The pan is big enough for me to use it as blusher too. Multitasker! Just need to remember to blend well because it is super pigmented. And it is also very long lasting.

7. Shade Banana and Vanilla from Anastasia Contour Kit

I use them as correcting for undereyes. They works nice.

Look at how much space I have saved with Z-Palette. Only one palette contains almost everything I need for travelling. Without Z-Palette, I should bring : these!! Thanks Z-Palette for existing..

Well then, now I'm ready to travel 😊 Thank you for reading.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

Hi, we meet again.. This time I will discuss about another old stuff that is still popular until now. Yes it is Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. This palette is so well-known worldwide and I think because of how people love Ambient Lighting series, recently Hourglass launched Ambient Lighting Edit too. (No I did not buy it)

The packaging itself is so tricky. The mirrory surface catches dirts and fingerprints easily. Other than that, I honestly love the design of the palette. It is modern and simple and not too heavy or bulky for something that carries 3 gorgeous powders. I just hope Hourglass would include a pouch to protect this thing.

On the back of the box, you get the description of the products. This palette contains 3 shades of powder. According to Hourglass, here is the definition:

DIM LIGHT : A neutral peach beige powder that blurs imperfections and highlights a radiant complexion with the perfect balance of warm and cool tones.

INCANDESCENT LIGHT : An opalescent pearl powder that brightens the complexion with a celestial glow.

RADIANT LIGHT : A sun-kissed golden beige that enhances the overall complexion with believable, subtle warmth, and also extends a summer glow.

Dim Light and Radiant Light are permanent shades which you can buy the full size, while Radiant Light is exclusive to this palette.

This powder will works in every skin tone since their undertones are all neutral. It creates soft glow and doesn't make my pores more visible. It last for 4-5 hours in humid weather.

You can use each of them alone or mixed, just do what you like. I rarely use them as finishing powder eventhough they are good for that purpose.

My ritual is to mix Dim Light and Incandescent Light (or use only one of them) as my highlighter and put some Radiant Light on my cheek for a warm finish.

Don't worry, it is not shimmery. The glow is subtle.. Do you like this? What do you think?

Thank you for reading.. See you soon..

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow S742, ME828, ME930

I've been wanting this like forever. I heard so many good things about this. And when I went to Surabaya, the first counter I visited was Make Up For Ever. I successfully picked the colors that I want.

Artist Shadow sold separately with the palette. There are three choices of palette: 1, 2, or 3 pans with the same price. Like you don't know, of course I go for the trio. If there is a 5pans palette, definitely I will go for it.

There are five type of finish in the newest formula of Artist Shadow: Satiny (S), Metallic (ME), Iridescent (I), Diamond (D), and Matte (M). All of them promise intense payoff and highly blendable. Each pan contains 2.5g of product.

S-742 : This shade called Tomato and has a Satiny finish. This bright orange bring a pop up on my lids. THIS IS NOT FOR A SOFTHEARTED. Lol!!!

ME-828: This shade called Garnet Black and has Metallic finish. Not black actually, this is more to deep garnet and more to brown than black.

ME-930: This shade called Black Purple and has Metallic finish. Once again it is not black, only deep purple.

Above is one layer swatch on my arm. I promise that it is more intense in real. I just had a bad luck with lighting. It is so soft and near buttery. Actually for me this is the winner. The color is so intense and applied beautifully on my skin.

There is visible shimmer on the pan of Metallic type but it is not the kind of super shimmery or glittery. When applied the shimmer transfered to a soft metallic looks. Believe me: It will not go wrong.

It is blendable and buildable. I have to use a light stroke and slowly build it up to create a good look. Remember that it is so intense so better not doing bold at once.

I'm impressed since there is no fall out and not easily fade or smudge, just like what I expect from MUFE product. Without primer it last about 10 hours in humid weather. How good is that!!!

I definitely will come back for more.. I need more. I want more. Lol! They are so incredible that I would give 10/10.

If you still in a doubt of their gorgeous pigmentation and payoff because of my bad swatch picture above, see below picture is my counter experience. They are all so perfect that I want to bring the tester tray home. Lol..
