2016 Resolution and Empties Project (Update 21 Feb 2016)

(That picture is not my empties.. definitely! It's impossible to have a lot of empties in the beginning of the year unless someone pour them in the toilet bowl. But of course they will facing me to death if they want to do something like that. Lol.. That is just my current skincare on rotation, girls. Easy! 😁).

Oh well, I wrote this post in the middle of the night, thinking what are my goals in 2016. Yeah maybe most of people will think about their resolution since December, but I was too busy working so early January is the perfect time to do it for me.

Finally after few nights of thinking, here are some 2016 resolution related to beauty are:

1. No Buy unless I desperately need (or want. Lol) the thing (That should be a product worth a World War III.. Lol) and unless I finished all my review on both old and new product on my stash (Limited edition items are not counted). 

I made a rough draft of my unreviewed collection, it is clearly more than 50 items. Geezzzzz!! Let's count with me. Assume if I write 3-4 reviews per week, I will finish approximately in 14-16 weeks.. That's 4 months of No Buy at minimum. I believe my unreviewed is almost reach 80s or maybe more. And even I counted few products as one, like I have 2 brand new Sephora Lippie but I count them as one. That is why it's seems to be endless guys, I don't want too strict to myself. I should enjoy this, I should write happily about them because this is also for you..

If you follow my page, you will understand that some pictures of some products are not brand new. Yes, I already started since last month. I was thinking about this quite long, but I don't want to start before Holiday Editions are all launch. I'm so bad, you know.. Hahaha.. Last time I feel used product couldn't be reviewed because of it is not so pretty anymore, but now I think that it is okay since my review is remain truthful.

2. Reviewing and posting more often. Since I am a Star Clozetter on ClozetteID and member of few communities, blogging is now not only a hobby, but also a job for me..

3. While last 2 years I choose too many decorative products, in 2016 I want to search for the best skin care and make up base according to my skin condition/concern. So basically you will not see too many new eyeshadow or lipstick as usual. Hope you don't mind.

4. Use them up! I will not do a Project Pan like last year because I want to completely enjoy the process of using my things. The other reason for not doing Project Pan is I don't want to focus only on few items then the other being neglected, my collections need equal attention. If not, they will be jealous on each other. Lol.. But I will track and take notes (maybe some pictures) of emptied pan/bottles/tube/jar or whatsoever.

My resolution are that simple but not that easy, especially no 1. 😱

Last time I updated the empties and project pan in different post each time. In 2016, I don't want to post too many article of empties since I will focusing on product review. So all things related to empties will be updated below.

I will also update if I buy/get new product start from today. I don't have budget or special criteria of hauling. This is just to keep tracking on my buys. I also will not describe anything about the product in this post. If there is a product worth to review, I will definitely post proper review about it unless it is really exceptional maybe I will put few lines here.

I don't have tight rules in this projects. I don't set any special numbers for items that I should finish. Just let it flow and see how far I'm going.

Chanel Joues Contraste Rose Glacier

Rose Glacier is my first Joues Contraste. Since I did not have anything from the Joues Contraste family, I was decided to bring the safe color home, the color that foolproof to my liking. (My second pick is Alezane which is more unique in color)

Not saying much about the packaging anymore. I guess you all know already about it. A simple black case with the white logo in the middle. Incudes pouch and got mirror inside. You'll find applicator that is really helpful when you are on travelling or for touch up. Open the case and that Rosy Violet smell will hint your nose. The smell of Chanel products somehow comforts me.

The color is a pretty rosy color with golden shimmer. The color and the shimmer creates a wonderful effect on your skin. The shimmer is fine enough, so it will not turn too shiny or bling bling. 

The texture is not too buttery but definitely not dry. I think this has good formula for powder blushes. This blush is pigmented but not overpowering. So basically you can build it up in strokes and reach whatever you desire of with it. It also blend well and long lasting, about 6-7 hours without fix spray.

Sorry for the picture. This was taken before I finish my make up so you have to see my dry lips there.. But well, hope you like this post and get the idea of how this blush looks like on my light to medium skin. Thank you for reading.

Guerlain Kiss Kiss Sexy Coral, Forever Brown, and Excessive Rose

The black case Kiss Kiss was launched in Fall 2014 with the total of 25 shades.. I only have 3 regular size and one travel size, but this time we will talk about the regular size only. Two of them are old collection, while one is a brand new when I'm doing this review.

The packaging is in black color except for the top which is a golden color with Guerlain's logo. The shape reminds me of a stack of cubes.

My oldies are Sexy Coral and Excessive Rose, the new comer is Forever Brown. I was avoiding brownish color when it first launched, but now I'm open to all lippie color and I think I need to try using brown color. Forever Brown is one of a very few brown in my lipstick collection.

The pigmentation is not same between one another, but generally they perform nice. All three of them are moisturizing enough and last about 4-5 hours on me. After that, the stain is visible but better to touch up for maintaining nice color. They glides easily on my lips but I don't like going too bold with them. Usually I only swipe once for my daily looks and reapply often instead of doing a thick layer.

I forget to scrub my lips before swatching so you could see dead skin there, please ignore. 

Sexy coral is the softest color of all three. I love this for a morning make up.

Forever brown is a reddish brown that luckily not making me looks old. 

Excessive rose is not for a soft hearted. The color is so pop up and the most pigmented of all three. This bright fuchsia will definitely stole attention from people around you.

So far I rarely use them because I have so many lippies on my stash. But they are once my favorites. The shade Rouge Kiss is pretty too. I will show you next time..

Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron

In 2016, I will start reviewing skincare too. Maybe not as junkie and as detail as make up, but whenever I tested on a skincare, I will try to describe it to you. This Indeed Lab Hydraluron is on rotation for past three months and used daily for the past week.

The tube is made from plastic and has the seal to conceal the product. The design is sleek and quite travel friendly, but like you know, tube is not so sturdy, so make sure if you are travelling, put it inside a safe pouch/case. You don't want it happened like mine, it can't hold the pressure and popping out and the gel is going everywhere from the end of the tube. If you are not travelling, then the tube is more than safe to hold your products till finish. 

It is weighing 1000 times of water, supposed to be easily absorbed and providing a plumper, smoother, and softer feeling on our skin. 

The texture is gel-like and transparant. It feels lightweight and easily absorb like they said. There is no other function other than moisturizing as I notice, but it does the job well. I don't really feel the 'smoother and softer' effect like if I'm using my SK-II Cellumination Essence, but it is still comfortable. You know that bad feeling when your skin suffers dehydration? There is no such feeling after you use Hydraluron.

It leaves no sticky feeling after a minute and not causing break out. It even makes my make up holds longer by 1-2 hours. I'm using it only in the morning, while I use other product at night targeting my skin problem.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit

People love Anastasia. From the infamous brow product to the liquid lipsticks.. Who don't.. One of the bomb is this Contour Kit. Last year Contouring Game is a hot topic everywhere and now been upgraded to the cream contouring style which is even more intense. While I love sitting here watching MUA and bloggers' videos showing their high contouring skill and completely amazed, I don't find that a strong contouring is my style. I never want to apply that much layer on my face. 

The simplest way to say it is I never succeed to contour my chubby face, so please bear with me if my swatch does not satisfy you. Another thing, this post won't show a brand new product. It is my old collection and I want to make myself fall in love again with this stuff. 

There are 6 shades in this palette which consists of 3 highlighting and 3 contouring powder. It supposed to sculpt, define and enhance our natural feature. There are 3 choices of palette, mine is a light/medium palette for light to medium skin.

There is no fall out when applied. The color payoff is more intense than Nars Paloma (reviewed here) and create more gradient on my face. It is quite blendable and easy to use but don't forget to slowly build it up than to go for a bold at once.

I love using the Middle Highligher for my undereye and the Left or Right for Highlighting. Go for the Right if you want a stronger one. 

I'm using the Left and Middle Contour for sculpting and the Right one for bronzing. This is quite long lasting, with primer and setting spray it last for 8 hours.

If you notice in these pictures, my eye make up is different between left and right eyes. I usually do review of some products altogether. The eyeshadows are Gucci Eye Shadow Mono (reviewed here). You don't think I'm going out with that crazy looks on my face, do you?

Guerlain Meteorites Flocons Enchantes Holiday 2015

Why I need another meteorites in my life? I also don't know how to answer this question. The result is same same but different. But this holiday edition is about the packaging. Do you agree that this is the most beautiful Meteorites packaging so far? At first I want to skip this piece but finally I surrender and just ordered it online.

I'm happy that this time Guerlain make a pretty design with a different material for the case. It is a sturdy plastic in a snowglobe form. I think I will skip if it is made of another tin or worse, cardboard like last time. The color is white with the golden accent and decoration.

The size is bigger as usual and of course fatter because of the shape is like a ball (but flattened on the bottom to prevent it from rolling on the table). It also contains more product than usual.

The closure is a twist type which I like better that the usual tin case. It has mirror inside of the lid. Like previous holiday edition, it is not a bald puff, but a fluffy one with ribbon, only this time is not red, but white and gold. 

Not like usual colorful balls, this edition contains beige and golden pearls purposedly to create frosted light, radiance and irridescent. The shape of the pearls is also not only round, we get some stars among them too. (Well, not snowflake like we thought).. 

The shimmer is fine but still visible when I did swatch on my hands. When completely blended, the fine shimmers is no longer shimmery but leave gorgeous sheen to my skin. It reduces the appearance of my imperfection like my pores and gently brightening my skin. It last for about 6-7 hours on me. 

Again, it's really hard to capture the result on my face. Meteorites is always better in reality than in the picture. You need to try it yourself and decide whether to buy it or not.

Guerlain Rouge G Merveilleux Rose (867)

Holiday season is a busy time for me and my wallet. While I work harder than usual, my wallet is paying harder than usual too. I'm broke! Lol.. This time I managed to only buy my most wanted pieces. In Guerlain case, it must be the Meteorites and the Rouge G lipstick. I was contemplating about the powder but I decided not to buy it since I still have wishlist from another brand. If you curious about the Meteorites, I will post a review just after this post. Stay tuned!

Okay, back to Rouge G. I think this series has the most unique design among all lipstick that I own. While Chanel's RAV closure is already dupeable, I still haven't found another lipstick which has this kind of design like Rouge G.  The difference between the regular and holiday edition is only the holiday edition has pattern on the case while the regular don't.

It feels heavy in my hand, in fact maybe the heaviest lipstick that I have in term of packaging. Therefore it also feels so lux when I take this out for touch up. If you open the cap, it will automatically open the mirror inside the cap. The golden pin is playing role as the lock.

The color is a rosy pink and looks a bit dusty according to me. It is soft enough to be used in the morning and afternoon. This is easily loved and will definitely become my go-to lipstick.

I love the texture of Rouge G. It is so smooth and lightweight but still pigmented and quite long lasting looking at how soft the color that Merveilleux Rose has. It glides smoothly on my lips, sheer at first but buildable. The swatch I provide in this review is a double swipes. It last for more than five hours without F&B consumption. It has moisturizing formula which is so comfortable whole day.

If lipstick is a woman, I would say that Tom Ford has bold, fierce, and daring personality, Dior Addict is the fashionable and flexible one, Marc Jacobs is chic and independent, while this Rouge G is soft and elegant. 

So, officially my favorite lippies formula are now a Fantastic Four. Lol.. Do you have any favorite lippie formula?
