Kiko Colour Correction Face Fixing Powder

Isn't she lovely? Isn't she beautiful? She is KIKO Milano Colour Correction Face Fixing Powder. Have you heard much about colour correction products? Yes they are always colourful and beautiful. Each colour will have its own function and when it blended well, they will even your skintone and makes your skin appears better.

The packaging is modern. It is a sturdy white plastic on the bottom part and mirrory lid for the top. It is embellished with the KK logo on the lid and features a magnetic closure and internal mirror. It is slightly bigger and thicker than my compact powder but not that big or heavy so basically you can bring this inside your pouch for later touch up.

This rainbow powder is designed to improve and revitalize the complexion, conceal redness and skin discolouration and set make-up improving its hold.

I bought it in Milano Centrale in late August and put in my luggage. Then 5 days later while in Schliersee, I want to take it out for more pics and the powder is already everywhere inside the packaging box. Yeah, the packaging box is really thin and the gap between powder and the lid is quite wide for fragile items with nothing in between. 

I should put tissue or cotton back then. It might be not strong enough to follow me crossing two countries in five days. Lol.. Luckily the messy part is just a small part of the beige, I tried to press it again using my fingertip. After that I put tissue for safety reason before closing the lid and it is perfectly safe until now, a month later and across 8 countries. Below is the only pic I have with the perfect condition, taken in Milano Centrale 5 minutes after purchasing.

The powder is soft and has light texture. Sometimes correcting powder feels like too pigmented, this one is not. I should heavily pressed the powder and  swatch two times to make it visible in the picture. The texture is bit powdery but could blend well onto skin. It is mild enough to use as all over face powder if picked using brush and pigmented enough as a subtle highlighter if applied using finger.

I have no problem using it during my holiday. But again, the weather there is so nice. I took these picture during my holiday but not post it yet until I can try it in Indonesia which has humid weather for more testing.

The picture above is one hours after application. You can see that my complexion is better and my skin looks brighter. I don't find it extend the life of make up on my face too much. But luckily it is not drying on me. It does not contain paraben and non comedogenic.

This one is after 7 hours without touch up. Not bad eh? In Indonesia it only last for 4 hours before I need to reapply. Not so special but definitely not bad for the price and for 6.5grams of product.

Some Sigma Brushes for Face

"You will never get a good make up without good brushes."

What do you think of the statement above? I totally agree.. There are so many options out there. For a non make up junkie maybe think that any brand will do. I was like that too. Why spending so much on brushes?? The money could buy another lipstick instead! I found myself so wrong.

I'm not gonna say cheap brush will always deliver bad result. Sometimes cheap brush could be so surprising. But, I found that I spent too much time and effort on reaching the desired result, not like with my more expensive brushes. The lifespan is also shorter even with the same treatment and the hair is also less softer.

After experiencing that such, I decided to limit myself on "Sigma or better" choice. Means that Sigma is now become my standard in choosing brushes, not by price but by quality. And Sigma also take the biggest part of my brush collection (I don't have too much brushes anyway).

I want to share some of my Sigma Face Brushes and how I use them. Each brush always meant for something, like for face powder, contouring, blush, etc.. It is written in the handle. I look at that designation in a glance but I often ignore and go my own way, so sometimes how I'm using my brush is different from the suggestion. It happens a lot on eyeshadow brushes. But for face brushes, my application mostly matched the description.

And here they are:

1. F80 - Flat Kabuki

This is a multifunction brush. It can be used for both powder and liquids. The result is smooth and nice blended for most of my liquid and powder base. It is perfect when you expect good coverage from your products and also good for building up. I'm currently loving to mix Burberry Fresh Glow and Vitalumiere Aqua in the back of my hand (sanitize first!), spread on my face and blend using this kabuki. 

2. F40 - Large Angled Contour 

I do contour and bronzer with other type of brush. I use this F40 for applying my blusher, especially when I need a natural result. The brush is quite soft so when you like a popping color on your cheek, just build or use a harder brush.

3. F35 - Tapered Highlighter

I don't have fan brush, so this is my only option to apply my highlighter, but I have no complaint. I'm loving it!

4-5. F30 - Large Powder and F20 - Large Powder

Both of them are large powder brush. The shape is identical, only the size is different. F20 is larger than F30. I usually use F20 for loose powder and it delivers fast application but maybe do not reach some area easily. For F30, I like using it with my compacts since F20 is too big for them. I often bring F30 inside my pouch too (I don't like sponge, therefore I need to bring brush to touch up).

Benefit Watt's Up

First of all, this is my old collection, so the product is not brand new (you will see dirty sponge etc).. I have been using it for quite some time and I like it. So I decide to do a short review about this.

It is basically a champagne cream to powder highlighter which is not too bold and will create soft glow on cheeks and brow bones.

I think the champagne color will suits any skin tone. And with the sheer finish, it is impossible to overdo. Texture is cream stick and easy to be applied. It is not too soft so it is safe to glide directly from the stick.

The applicator is a soft blending sponge attached to the product that helps to spread and blend the cream. But most of the time I like using my fingers since it is easier.

It does not make my pores more visible.The sheer finish makes it only last for 5 hours on me. But this piece you can bring to travel with no worries (I prefer to bring cream than powder while traveling). This is not the best highlighter that I have, but I still use this regularly mostly in morning or afternoon when I don't need too much glow.
